Shared development principles - common drive
Meet Lars. He has been part of Vitec Aloc since 1994 and, over three decades, he has played a central role in the company’s technological development. Today he has been appointed CISO after serving as the company’s CTO for the past eight years.
Lars originally trained as a low-current electrical engineer, but quickly became captivated by software development. When he joined the company, it was a small setup with an entrepreneurial approach — everyone wore many hats, and much of the work was done in a very hands-on, improvised way.
"We were close to the customers and literally went out with floppy disks to install solutions. It was a different approach back then, but you learned an incredible amount because you were given the freedom to do so."
Since then, much has changed. Lars has helped raise the quality of both products and processes and made the development work and our approach to product infrastructure less dependent on individual people. He highlights especially the structuring of technical infrastructure and shared development principles as decisive steps — and he himself was a key driving force behind the merging of development departments and the introduction of Microsoft-based tools.
