Portrait of CBDO Vibeke Larsen

Vibeke has been part of Vitec Aloc since the 90s. In this portrait she offers a unique insight into the company’s development up until today.

Shared solutions across customers

Meet Vibeke. She is Director of Business Development and has been part of Vitec Aloc since 1994. Over three decades, she has been close to technological shifts, new business models, and organisational changes while playing an important role in shaping the direction the company has moved in.

When she started, people wore many hats and decisions were made quickly. Development, operations, and customer dialogue blended together in a daily environment driven by passion and pioneer spirit. But as the company grew, the need for change emerged. One of the major milestones was the shift from generalists to more specialised roles. This became a turning point in how the company worked:

"We went from creating individual solutions to building something that can be maintained and scaled. That requires a different approach - and it has given us far greater resilience."

Over time, customer involvement has also changed. Where individual customers once pulled the company in different directions, Vitec Aloc today works more purposefully with standard software and shared solutions that create broad value. This has made it possible to build more coherent products while also strengthening the company strategically.

According to Vibeke, it’s not just about technology, but about setting a clear direction and stick to it, even when it’s difficult. It requires courage and a shared understanding:

“We shouldn’t just build what customers ask for. We need to understand their needs and develop the best solutions - even when that means saying no to something else.”

The ability to set direction, and bring the organization along, is something Vibeke highlights as crucial for the journey Vitec Aloc has been on. From a small company with great flexibility to a structured software organization that also focuses on operations and the future.

“The thing I’m most proud of is that many of us have set the direction together — and that we’ve moved from shop to business.”
